Neuropathy is a condition where nerves are affected.  I do treat patient that have this condition in the lower extremities. Patients  have neuropathy from many causes. Some have this condition due to diabetes,  trauma, other from chemotherapy, other from nerve damage due to chemicals such as alcohol, medications, toxins, tobacco, or idiopathic- that means we do not know the cause.

We are very fortunate to be able to differentiate between small fiber neuropathy and large nerve neuropathy as the treatment differs. We are also offering our patients the choice between  main stream pharmacological  course or alternative treatments such as biofeedback and others. This is a more challenging  diagnoses but the reports we are getting from patients are great. Many send us thank you cards, call us, and are very appreciative as they can feel their feet after years of pain. Some patients report being able to have a good night sleep after weeks or disturbed sleep due to neuropathic pain.

About the pharmacological course, we use eather: Cymbalta, Lyrica or Neurontin. Sometime we prescribe Metanx, Neuro-Vasia,

Other times we check for vitamin deficiencies, or we use adaptogen natural herbs. It all depends on the patient's condition,  medical history, medication, allergies, and the physical condition of the patient. However, by being able to help patients that really have this condition is very rewording.
